New Camera
I recently bought a Nikon D40 with the 18-55mm kit lens (don’t shoot me!) and 55-200mm zoom lens from Amazon. It hasn’t arrived yet, and I can’t wait until it does because it will help me get more serious about photography as a hobby. Until now, I’ve only had a Samsung point-and-shoot, which has served me quite well and will continue to do so, but I’m quite ready to make the leap to more advanced photography. I will post some pictures when I get to use the camera.
The interested can see some of my work at my deviantArt gallery.

I just got almost the exact same kit, substituting the D60 body. I absolutely love it. If you’re half as happy with your new rig as I am with mine, you’ll be hard pressed to stop smiling.
Interestingly enough, my point-and-shoot that stays in the car with me is a Samsung … the S85.
Congratulations!
Thanks for the comment!
Yeah, I was looking at the D60 with similar lenses, but it was too expensive for me. Hopefully, I can upgrade the body some day.
My Samsung is the Digimax V700. It’s a bit unwieldy when compared with newer models, but its 7.1 megapixels together with what I believe to be an impressive feature set for its class has kept me happy. The fact that I got it as a free upgrade when my V600 (I think that was the model) broke is a nice touch.
Your photography is quite good!
[...] other news, I have thoroughly enjoyed my D40 thus far. Here are some sample pictures from my deviantART [...]
